New Exciting Season at Oulton Broad
Located in the idyllic Broads National Park, the centre is open and ready again to offer a range of water sports activities this year to all age groups regardless of ability or experience. A not-for-profit registered Charity, The Centre is well equipped with both changing facilities and a classroom, and offers opportunities to experience sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and wing surfing. Power boat training and first aid courses are also available.
This year they also plan to re-introduce wind surfing to the Broad, encouraging young people to take up the sport. Another exciting initiative for 2025 at The Centre is the formation of the OBWSC Rowing and Sculling Club which will work with adults, youngsters and local schools offering opportunities to try rowing on both the Broad and at sea. The base will also be hosting British Rowing Lowestoft Coastal Sculling Academy – the only one in East Anglia.

We are also determined that, with the help of recent external funding, the more disadvantaged in our community are able to benefit from our services with subsidised charges. The Centre is able to offer both fun experiences as well as courses for individuals or groups who wish to obtain recognised water sports qualifications.
Activities throughout the year include their Summer school holiday Activity Weeks for young children, and many local schools also bring their pupils to gain on- the -water skills throughout the season.
For local and national businesses OBWSC also provides corporate team building packages which have proved very popular. Hiring of paddle craft is also available.
