Course aims:
This course is designed to teach first aid techniques specifically for boaters. Having this essential knowledge could be the difference between life and death if an emergency happens on the water.
Course content:
The 1 day RYA First Aid course covers the essentials of first aid and also specialises in topics that are particular to boaters such as conducting the recovery position in a confined space, CPR, cold water shock and hypothermia, seasickness and dehydration, obtaining medical assistance, advice by VHF and helicopter rescue.
Course pre-requisites:
No pre-requisites are required for this course.
Spaces fill up quickly, so early booking is advised.
Course viability
The viability of our courses depends on a minimum of two participants booking and the availability of our instructors. OBWSC reserves the right to cancel a course up to 7 days before the start date if either of these conditions isn’t met. In that case, we’ll offer you a full refund or the option to rearrange your course for another suitable date.
